How to draw a Flower

Learn How To Draw A Flower Quickly & Easily

Place your paper right, grab a pencil with regular strokes and let’s try to master this how to draw a Flower tutorial. The best way to start would be the petal in the middle that kinda stands out (00 min 21 sec). It looks like a boomerang. Next, put two vertical petals directly on top of it (00 min 40 sec). Ok, now we’ve got the foundation for our drawing.

Keep adding details until the center is done. Things will become a lot easier after that (01 min 43 sec). That’s because we’ll switch from really small petals to big, long curvy lines to cover the rest of the flower. Follow my guide and make sure you’ve got the right proportions – that’s crucial for this particular tutorial. Once the petals are all in place, it will be time to take care of the leaves.

This final stage in the how to draw a Flower tutorial starts with the leaf in the top left corner (03 min 03 sec). We’ve got three in total, and they all look the same. Obviously, you can add more, but that’s not the point here. The last things to draw are the super-tiny leaves at the very bottom of the flower (03 min 38 sec). Again, we’ve got three of those.

Before you learn how to draw A Flower, did you know?

Flowers are all around us; yet, we usually fail at recognizing their beauty in our daily routine. That’s especially true for the people that live in the suburbs as compared to the city folks. Hopefully, after we all go through with this tutorial, that will change for you.

We’ve got a classic image of a flower that grows pretty much in every corner of the planet. On one hand, it’s quite easy and won’t take much effort to complete. On the other one, you’ll have to get every single petal right; otherwise, you’ll ruin the concept.

Some Things To Keep In Mind…

These tutorials are only here to guide you. Your drawing does not need to look "identical" to mine.

Start with rough but light pencil strokes that you can work into the shapes you want.

Once you have your rough drawing completed, go over it in a darker stroke for your final drawing.

Add shading and/or color to complete if desired.

Using this technique you will be able to draw anything after some practice... even without following step-by-step tutorials.

  1. HI there,

I am a teacher in an after school program. I am having trouble finding printable how to drawings for my little group of elementary kids who want to draw people and landscapes at their own pace and time. The videos are great but I really wanted a step by step to print for them to use. Any suggestions? We are on a tight (meaning no) budget.
    Happy drawing,
