How To Draw Peril – Wings Of Fire

Learn How to Draw Peril – Wings Of Fire Quickly & Easily!

Doesn’t that dragon look gorgeous? Yes, she does! So, let’s try to learn how to draw Peril, shall we? As always, light strokes is the way to go when you’re drawing guides for your future drawing (00 min 18 sec). Create a circle in the middle and start from there. See those two lines? That’s the direction for the dragon’s horns (00 min 25 sec).

What about the beast’s eye and mouth? How do you position them right? These parallel lines will allow you to keep the proportions right (00 min 33 sec). After that, draw a C-like curve from the top of the circle and one from the bottom like you see in the video (00 min 46 sec). That’s pretty much it for the guides in our how to draw Peril tutorial.

The most in-your-face part is probably that scary eye. So, get right on it (01 min 01 sec). Happy with that? Then move on to the first horn (01 min 59 sec). That will give you a perspective on the whole picture and make it a lot easier to add the rest of the facial features.

Drawing the jaw might prove to be a bit tricky, so just let the video guide you (02 min 25 sec). Use smooth lines to accentuate the jaw. The spike on top of the nose will give your dragon quite a scary look (03 min 25 sec). Once you’re happy with the way the head looks, move on to the teeth and the tongue (04 min 31 sec).

The horns that are visible from the side should follow the guiding circle we made in the beginning of our how to draw Peril manual (05 min 13 sec). The final step would be to draw the neck and erase the guiding lines (5 min 37 sec). Without a doubt, this mighty dragon is one of the finest drawings in our library! So, don’t be sad if you can’t get it right the first time around – you can always come back and do better!

Before you learn how to draw Peril, did you know?

Peril has fiery blue eyes (even though I colored mine yellow) and reddish-orange scales. She also has a long, impressive tail which you can’t see in this drawing. She had a lot of fire from birth which came from her absorbing most of her twin brother’s fire when they were both little eggs. Furthermore, she can easily burn through anything!

Peril is a SkyWing and she’s also Queen Scarlet’s former arena champion. Her mother’s name is Kestrel and her brother who was killed by their mother when they were newly hatched would’ve been named Ember. He was killed so that Peril could be saved.

In “Escaping Peril” we are told that Peril’s father’s RainWing name is Chameleon and his SkyWing name is Soar… Yep, it’s pretty confusing, and Peril herself mistakenly got it confused with Sore. Peril is obviously the main character of “Escaping Peril”, which is the eighth book in the Wings of Fire series. Now go ahead and learn how to draw Peril for yourself by following the simple steps in this video.

Some Things To Keep In Mind…

These tutorials are only here to guide you. Your drawing does not need to look "identical" to mine.

Start with rough but light pencil strokes that you can work into the shapes you want.

Once you have your rough drawing completed, go over it in a darker stroke for your final drawing.

Add shading and/or color to complete if desired.

Using this technique you will be able to draw anything after some practice... even without following step-by-step tutorials.
